Kidnapped girl rescued in Chittagong, 3 held

She was abducted for unethical purposes, says RAB

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued a 12-year-old girl from the EPZ area of Chittagong, nearly two weeks after her abduction from Gazipur. 

The elite force also arrested three people on Friday in connection with the abduction.

They were identified as Shah Paran, 19, Mohammad Rahat Hossain, 23, and Suma Akter, 20.

Niaz Mohammad, assistant director (Media) of RAB-7 in Chittagong, confirmed the matter in a press release on Sunday.

The girl was abducted when she went out of her house to buy a notebook and a pen on December 13.

Later, her father filed a case with Gazipur sadar police station in this regard.

With the help of shadow investigation and modern technology, RAB came to know that the abductors were staying in Khan Sufia Mansion under EPZ police station of Chittagong, Niaz added. 

“Later, when a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in that area, the accused tried to flee. The accused were detained at that time and the girl was rescued from the spot.”

The RAB official further said Shamshun was abducted for unethical purposes. 

According to RAB, the rescued girl and the accused have been handed over to Gazipur police for further legal action.
