A rickshaw puller was found electrocuted in Dhaka in the early hours of Monday as the capital faced spells of rain ahead of winter due to a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.
The victim was identified as Md Maidul Haque, 28, of Gaibandha.
The incident was reported at 12:45am at a garage in Satarkul road, where Maidul used to stay.
“We rushed Maidul to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s emergency department as he fell unconscious after the shock. The doctors declared him dead around 2am,” said co-worker Asraful Islam.
“He left behind his wife, and a four-month-old child in his village,” he added.
