Opposition leader and Mymensingh 4 lawmaker Raushon Ershad will be flown to Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, for advanced treatment.
Her son Rahgir Almahe Ershad, who is the lawmaker for the Rangpur 3 constituency, told Dhaka Tribune that the family was completing necessary formalities at Dhaka airport at around 5pm on Friday.
She would be taken to Bumrungrad International Hospital by an air ambulance, he added.
Raushon Ershad is the widow of the late military ruler Hussain Muhammad Ershad.
She was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka in August with an unusual level of carbon dioxide in her lungs. Later, the 77-year-old Jatiya Party leader was shifted to the ICU on October 20.
At the time, her family members had said they would take her abroad for treatment once she was stable enough to be moved.
Party sources said Raushon Ershad was suffering from various age-related health complications. She also had a lung infection which was causing her oxygen levels to fluctuate, they added.
Rahgir Almahe Ershad said his mother was very weak and could not speak properly. He asked everyone to pray for her speedy recovery.
