54 from SUST make it to list of world’s best researchers

Fifty-four researchers from different faculties of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have been ranked among the world’s best researchers in the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index.
Prof Md Akhtarul Islam of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science was ranked first among the researchers of the university.
On Sunday, the international organization published the list based on citations and other indices of more than 700,000 scientists from 13,531 universities around the world.
In listing 708,480 scientists from around the world -- 153,262 from Asia, 1,788 from Bangladesh -- their citations in the last five years were taken into account.
Seventeen teachers from different faculties of the Islamic University (IU) were named in the list.
Khulna University Vice Chancellor Dr Mahmud Hossain was included in the list as well.
