Brac Uni’s Finact club holds ‘FINTACTICS’

The webinar series focuses on the importance of personal finance in student life

The Finance and Accounting Club of Brac University (Finact) recently organized “FINTACTICS”, a webinar series to help everyone learn about personal finance.

The 14-day long campaign, sponsored by Catch Bangladesh and powered by Foringer Dol, started on December 11 and ended on December 24 with the main focus on the importance of personal finance. 

The webinar series was broadcast on the club’s Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages.

Shezanur Rahman, lecturer of Brac Business School, conducted the first webinar. He provided some interesting insights into the significance of income in student life.

“It’s not only about the money, it’s about developing other skills,”  he said.

Muyeed Morshed, chief strategy officer of Catch Bangladesh, was the speaker at the second webinar.  He gave insights on the significance of saving money and tracking expenditure.

According to him, when someone lacks control over the economy, they don’t have control over the actions they take. 

Prof Dr Sang H Lee, dean of Brac Business School, conducted the third webinar. He conveyed his thoughts on the importance of investing in mutual funds. 

He also explained the differences between open- and close-ended mutual funds and the pros and cons of each type. 

The last webinar was conducted by Mohammad Rehan Kabir, senior research associate of EBL Securities Limited. He gave insights on investment acumen in the stock market. 

The webinars provided shrewd decision making ideas for students attempting to invest their money as beginners.
