First Hajj flight returns with 335 pilgrims

Another flight, carrying 419 Hajj pilgrims under government management will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday

The first return flight carrying 335 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia landed in Dhaka on Sunday.

A Flynas Airline flight touched down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6:55pm.

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman M Mafidur Rahman was present at the airport to welcome the returning Hajj pilgrims.

CAAB officials informed that preparations, including security measures, were made at the airport for the returning Hajj pilgrims, including providing water from the Zamzam well in Saudi Arabia.

Representatives from airlines including Saudia and Flynas airlines distributed Zamzam water among the returning pilgrims, which was stored at the airport in advance. 

The acting executive director of the airport told the reporters that each pilgrim was given a token to collect water from the Zamzam well. 

The Zamzam water was kept in front of the green channel at the airport for the convenience of the pilgrims.

Another flight, carrying 419 Hajj pilgrims under government management, will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday at 6pm, according to Biman spokesperson Tahera Khandaker.

The Holy Hajj was held in Saudi Arabia on June 27 subject to the sighting of the moon.
