Waste removal of 62 wards of two city corporations completed

The mayors of the two cities had assured that all the waste in Dhaka City would be removed within a specified time

After starting the removal of sacrificial animal waste from 2pm till 7:30pm on Thursday, the two city corporations of Dhaka have removed complete waste from 62 wards. 

This includes 30 wards of Dhaka South City Corporation and 32 wards of Dhaka North City Corporation, according to the control rooms of the city corporations. 

According to data from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), total sacrificial animal waste has been removed from 27 wards including ward no 10, 53, 38, 41, 37, 43, 26, 16, 9, 10, 16, 24, 26, 30-32, 35-38, 41, 51, and 53.

According to information from Dhaka North City Corporation (DSCC), complete waste has been removed from ward no 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 10, 11, 12, 26, 27, 28, 32, 37, 38, 39, 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 51, 52, 53 and 54.

Earlier in the morning, after the main Eid congregation at the National Eidgah, the mayors of the two cities assured that all the waste in Dhaka City would be removed within a specified time.

DSCC and DNCC said they had prepared around 20,000 workers for quick removal of waste. In this, DSCC will remove this waste for 24 hours starting from 2pm and DNCC within eight hours.
