A Jamalpur court on Wednesday sent six of the 13 people, arrested in the journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim murder case, to jail after their three-day remand period ended.
Judge Senior Judicial Magistrate Tanveer Ahmed ordered their jail custody on Wednesday.
Those who were sent to jail are Md Kofil Uddin, 55, Md Fazlu Mia, 35, Md Shahid, 40, Md Maqbool, 35, Md Ohiduzzaman, 30, and Zakirul Islam, 35, said state-lawyer Advocate Yusuf Ali.
Earlier, the Jamalpur court on Sunday granted remand to 13 accused in the journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim murder case.
Among them, Union Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu was put on five-day remand.
Those who were remanded for four days are Golam Kibria Sumon, 43, Milan, 25, Tofazzel, 40, Ainal Haque, 55, and Reazul.
The seven accused who were put on a three-day remand are Kofil Uddin, 55, Fazlu Mia, 35, Shahid, 40, Maqbool, 55, Ohiduzzaman, 30, Monir, and Zakir.
A case was lodged against 47 people naming the Sadhurpara Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu as prime accused in connection with Nadim's murder.
Earlier, Banglanews24.com journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim who was seriously injured in an attack allegedly by some supporters of a UP chairman in Pathati area of Bokshiganj upazila Wednesday night died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Thursday
He worked as Jamalpur correspondent for Banglanews24.com and Bokshiganj upazila correspondent for Ekattor Television. He was also a member of Jamalpur Press Club.
