Sylhet district administration has formed a six-member probe body to investigate into the road crash that killed at least 15 workers and injured many more.
Sylhet deputy commissioner formed the probe body following the instructions of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
The committee has been asked to submit a probe report within seven working days, said Sylhet district administration Executive Magistrate Ahsanul Alam.
The committee would be led by the additional district magistrate, and the assistant director (Engineering) of Sylhet Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will serve as member secretary.
On Thursday, a case was filed against two drivers in connection with the collision between a truck and a pickup van on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway in the Nazir Bazar area of Dakshin Surma upazila, Sylhet, in which 15 people were killed.
Ijazul of Bhatipara in Dirai has filed the case as the plaintiff. Currently, the two drivers are absconding.
