State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali expressed his confidence that Bangladesh's aviation sector will expand threefold in the next 15 years.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of sending the cadet pilots of US Bangla Airlines to the United States for training at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday.
Highlighting the timely infrastructural development, advancements in technical and human skills, and the formulation of laws and policies in the country's aviation industry, the state minister attributed its rapid growth to the visionary directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Over the past decade, Bangladesh's aviation market has nearly doubled.
"To sustain this remarkable growth trajectory in the aviation sector and contribute to the country's economy, we will require an increasing number of trained and skilled professionals at every level of the industry," said the state minister.
CourtesyThe government has undertaken various measures to meet the growing demand for skilled manpower. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has already introduced the "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Next Generation Aviation Professionals (NGAP) Scholarship" to foster the development of trained women pilots, he added.
Mahbub Ali further emphasized the importance of private stakeholders joining forces with the government to advance the aviation industry in the country.
He commended US Bangla Airlines' initiative to send trainee pilots to the United States for higher education, as it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the development of Bangladesh's aviation sector.
