Three friends on a motorcycle were killed in a road accident in Faridpur.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Madhukhali's Ghopghat area at around 8pm on Tuesday.
The deceased were Hussain Sardar, 20, Nahid Biswas, 21, and Zobair Biswas, 20.
The local union parishad chairman, Motiar Rahman Khan, said: "A storm had knocked down a tree on the street and they fell from the bike after crashing into it. Afterwards, a truck ran over them."
Later, locals rescued the three and took them to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared them dead.
He said that the three victims were friends.
Faridpur Assistant Superintendent of Police (Madhukhali Circle) Suman Kar said: "The bodies are at Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex for autopsy. Legal action is under process in this regard."
