Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, an affiliate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on Monday organized a workers' rally in front of the BNP's central office in Nayapaltan on the occasion of May Day.
The leaders and activists of BNP and party organizations have gathered in Nayapaltan centering the rally.
Traffic movement slowed down in Nayapaltan area on Monday due to the rally and there was also a brief traffic jam. One side of the road is completely closed due to the presence of the activists.
Pedestrians and vehicles plying on the road suffered from this. Apart from the main road, the leaders and activists also took a stand on some nearby roads.
Additional police were deployed around the entire rally. Besides, police vehicles are ready at Fakirapool intersection.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is the chief guest in the rally presided over by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain. Central leaders including members of the National Standing Committee also spoke at the rally.
