Police on Tuesday rescued a 19-year-old from a brother after receiving a call on the national helpline 999.
Inspector Anwar Sattar, the focal person (media) of the National Emergency Service 999, confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday.
Anwar said: "The young woman fell into the clutches of the broker circle and settled in the Faridpur prostitution ring, two months ago. She is from Bandarban district."
Inspector Anwar further said: “Later, the girl called 999 using a mobile phone and asked for help. A team from Kotwali police station rushed to the spot after receiving the call. They rescued the woman and brought her to the police station."
After informing the parents, they came to the police station. Later, the young woman was handed over to her parents
Legal measures are underway in this regard, he added.
