People traveling by train are returning to Dhaka along with family members with great relief at the end of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
This year, the suffering during the Eid journey was much lower than previous years.
There was also relief on the return journey, according to railway passengers returning Dhaka after celebrating Eid at home.
Passengers said that this year, due to 100% online ticket sales and strict ban on ticketless travel, train journey was much more comfortable than other years.
On the morning of the fourth day of Eid on Tuesday, it was seen at the capital's Kamalapur railway station that people are returning to Dhaka from the village in a relaxed mood. The railway station was not packed with returning passengers.
When talking to the passengers returning to Dhaka in the morning, they said that even though the train left the station at the scheduled time on the return journey, there was some delay in the middle of the journey. It takes a little longer to reach Dhaka. Apart from this, the passengers did not have any problem.
Tamim Ahmed, a passenger who came to Dhaka by Tangail commuter train at 10am said that the train left Tangail on time. There was no crowd inside the train. Sometimes there is a delay of 10-15 minutes for a crossing. Besides, there was no problem.
“I returned to Dhaka with relief,” he said.
Saidul Islam, another passenger who came to Dhaka by Agnibina Express, said: "There was no problem traveling by train this Eid. I was able to buy tickets online at home. It was a great relief. After that, the number of additional passengers at the station was less. I was able to go easily. There was no problem in returning.”
Kamalapur Railway Station Master Afsar Uddin said: "Some 54 pairs of trains including special trains are operational during this Eid. It is hoped that there will not be much difficulty for the passengers to return.”
