Satkhira, Manikganj pray for rain amid scorching heat

They asked for forgiveness from the almighty and prayed for rain to protect animals from extreme heat

Special prayer arrangements have been made in Satkhira and Manikganj amid the country suffering from severe heat.

A prayer was held at the invitation of National Ulama Mashaikh Aimma Parishad at Satkhira Central Eidgah Maidan at 9am on Tuesday. Local Muslims participated in the prayer.

Muhtamim Hafez Mao Mufti Rabiul Islam of Parandah Madrasa led the prayer while the President of National Ulama Mashaikh Aimma Parishad Satkhira District Branch Hafez Mao Mufti Amir Hasan took part in it.

At this time, they asked for forgiveness from the almighty and prayed for rain to protect animals from extreme heat.

On the other hand, District Imam Muazzin Kalyan Parishad in Mankiganj organized special prayers at Shaheed Miraj Tapan Stadium around 10am on Tuesday.

The prayer was led by Hazrat Maulana Mohibullah.

At this time, Imam Muazzin Welfare Council President Maulana Rafiqul Islam, General Secretary Maulana Abdul Quader and hundreds of Muslims participated. After the prayer, a special prayer was offered for relief from the scorching heat through rain.

Maulana Rafiqul Islam, president of the Imam Muazzin Welfare Council, said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to pray two rakats of Istikhara prayer in the open field with his companions during times of drought and rain. 

“We followed the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and prayed two rakats for rain. Our hope is that Almighty Allah will accept our prayers and shower mercy,” he added.
