Dhaka residents suffer as city records highest temperature in 58 years

The highest temperature was recorded in Chuadanga at 42.2°C

Dhaka dwellers on Saturday experienced the hottest day since 1965, causing miserable suffering to all.   

The highest temperature recorded in the capital Saturday was 40.4°C, which has been the maximum temperature since 1965, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In 1965, the highest 42°C was recorded in the capital. 

The highest temperature recorded in the capital Friday was 40.2°C, the same as that recorded precisely nine years ago on April 14, 2014.

However, Saturday's highest temperature in the country was recorded in Chuadanga at 42.2°C.
