Simulation labs, e-libraries at 8 medical colleges inaugurated

Simulation labs will be introduced in all medical and dental colleges of the country in stages

Simulation labs and e-libraries have been inaugurated in eight medical colleges to make medical education in Bangladesh more up-to-date, dynamic and practical.

In these labs, students of medical science can gain skills in digital dissection using an advanced digital dissection table.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated a lab at Manikganj Colonel Maleque Medical College Hospital at 10am on Saturday.

Dr Zakir Hossain, principal of Manikganj Colonel Maleque Medical College, said that medical students will be able to gain practical knowledge through the simulator before applying it on patients. This will reduce the supply and use of insufficient corpses. Besides, through repeated use, students' skills will increase.

He also said that this lab will be introduced in all medical and dental colleges of the country in stages.

In the first phase, the setting up of simulation labs in eight medical colleges has been completed.
