A massive fire broke out at New Supermarket in the capital on Saturday morning
Twenty eight units of fire service are working to bring the fire under control.

Some 18 firefighting units rushed there immediately to bring the flame under control after they received the information of fire at around 5:40am, according to sources.

Teams of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force joined forces with the fire service.
Earlier, Bangladesh deployed 12 platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh, a paramilitary force, to help bring the fire under control.

The New Supermarket fire incident occurred 11 days after the Bangabazar fire that gutted thousands of shops during Eid season.
