IGP urges cops to participate in national level Islamic competitions

He said that Azan, Qirat and essay competitions are organized every year to improve religious aspects among policemen

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun urged police members to take part in various national level competitions to increase religious practice among them.

The IGP was speaking at an award giving ceremony of Bangladesh Police Annual Azaan, Qirat and essay Competition-2023 held at Bangladesh Police Central Jame Mosque in Rajarbagh Police Lines on Friday afternoon.

He said that Azan, Qirat and essay competitions are organized every year to improve religious aspects among policemen.

Like every year, policemen from all police units participated in this competition and the most qualified contestants were selected from among them, he added.

The IGP also thanked the panel of judges for conducting the competition smoothly.

Welcoming the winners of the competition, the IGP said those who did not win should continue to practice to do better in the future.

Later, he distributed certificates and prizes among the winners.

The event was presided over by the president of the organizing committee Additional IGP (Administration) Md Kamrul Ahsan.

Among others, DMP Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq, Additional IGPs, senior police officers, policemen and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
