The Awami League has chalked out elaborate programs to celebrate Pohela Boishakh, the first day of the Bangla New Year 1430, on Friday.
To observe the day, the Dhaka South unit of the Awami League will hold a colourful procession in the city.
The procession will start from Bahadur Shah Park in the capital at 7am where central Awami League leaders, including General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, will participate, a press release said.
The procession will parade to different areas of the city and end at the Awami League's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue.
Besides, a discussion will be held in front of Bahadur Shah Park in Old Dhaka at 7am on the same day.
Dhaka South Awami League acting president Nurul Amin Ruhul, MP, will preside over the discussion and General Secretary Humayun Kabir will conduct it.
