The Copyright Office of Bangladesh has approved “Ashrayan: Sheikh Hasina's model for inclusive development” as a creative work of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Mohammad Tofazzel Hossain Miah announced it at a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Thursday afternoon.
He said the copyright office has registered this concept of Prime Minister as a creative work with a validity of 60 years.
Dhaka TribuneAshrayan, one of the largest housing projects in the world, is an initiative of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.
"From 1997 until now, a total of 2.4 million homeless people have received homes under the supervision of the Prime Minister's Office," said the principal secretary.
In addition, with the help of other government departments, a total of 3.6 million homeless people have received homes through the Ashrayan project, he stated.
The Ashrayan project is now being discussed in several forums of the United Nations, the principal secretary added.
