A university student has been killed in a road crash in the Lalbagh area of Dhaka.
Sanzida Akhter Tamanna, 27, hailing from Noakhali and a third-year student at North South University, died at DMCH in the early hours of Saturday.
Lalbagh police station SI Akhter Hossain said Sanzida was returning home on a motorcycle registered with the ride-sharing app Pathao and received critical injuries when a covered van hit the two-wheeler.
She was first taken to a local hospital.
As her condition was critical, she was then rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctor on duty declared her dead around 12:15am, said the SI.
Police seized the two vehicles involved in the crash and detained their drivers.
