Ministry seeks Hajj flight schedules from three airlines

The letter has been sent to Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines and Flynas

The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Sunday sent a letter to the three airlines associated with Hajj pilgrim travel to finalize the Hajj flight schedule on an urgent basis for proper management.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the letter has been sent to Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines and Flynas to finalize the Hajj flight schedule on an urgent basis.

The letter read: “The Holy Hajj will be held on June 27 subject to the sighting of the moon. This year, 1,27,198 people from Bangladesh can perform Hajj. In the interests of smooth Hajj management and for carrying out other tasks including house rent in Mecca and Madinah, it is necessary to know the flight schedule on an urgent basis.”

This year's Hajj flights will start from May 21. Biman Bangladesh will operate 160 dedicated pre-Hajj flights this year. Biman's Hajj flights will end on June 22 before Hajj. The first flight BG-3001 will depart from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Jeddah at the scheduled time on May 21 at 3:45am. The flight will land at Jeddah Airport at 7:30am local time.
