The world's most-used internet search engine, Google, has created a doodle marking the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
The doodle, featuring the Bangladeshi flag, has been seen above the search box on the homepage of Google since 12am on Sunday.
A red-green flag doodle will appear when someone searches for something from Bangladesh on Google. They can visit a new page with information about Bangladesh's independence by clicking the doodle.
On this day in 1971, Bangladesh declared its independence and officially became an independent nation later that same year.
The Independence Day kicks off with a thirty-one gun salute to honour those who fought for Bangladesh's freedom.
Citizens observe the national holiday by donning the Bangladesh colours of red and green, reads Google's page on the doodle. As depicted in the artwork, the flag decorates homes and buildings throughout the country. Its central red circle and green background represent a sun rising across the natural beauty of Bangladesh's landscape.
Google first made a doodle in honour of Bangladesh's Independence Day in 2013, commemorating the country's 43rd Independence Day.
Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepage since 1998, which is intended to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and people.
