A tailback of 18km formed on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway in the early hours of Thursday from the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge to Pauli river in Kalihati upazila of Tangail.
Focus BanglaLutfar Rahman, a truck driver going to Naogaon in Elenga area, said: “It took about an hour to reach the 1.5km road from Pauli to Elenga. The vehicles were hardly moving.”
Focus BanglaElenga highway outpost in-charge Zahid Hasan said: “The traffic pressure increased since midnight. Apart from this, traffic jams are created due to reckless driving. We are taking care of the situation and it will be normal soon.”
