Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, MP has been admitted to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) due to some complications with his health on Sunday.

He was sent to Dhaka by air ambulance on Sunday afternoon, as he has been suffering from cholecystitis or inflammation of the gallbladder.

The food minister's Public Relations Officer Kamal Hossain said that the food minister fell ill during the party rally in Porsha upazila last Friday.

He underwent some tests that were suggested by local doctors, and they revealed an infection in his gallbladder, Kamal said.

The doctor advised him to go to Dhaka for better treatment, but instead of going to Dhaka, he was receiving treatment from his own home in Naogaon, he added.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder was scheduled to attend a program to mark the death anniversary of the late Abdul Jalil, the former general secretary of Awami League on Monday.
