Air Astra - the country's newest commercial airline in passenger service is set to operate two flights daily between Dhaka and Sylhet from February 23.
The one-way fare starts from Tk3,495, including all taxes, said a press release.
This third prime destination in the northeast of Bangladesh, after Chittagong and Cox's Bazar,
is being launched within the first three months since the airline began commercial flight operations on November 24 last year.
The flights have been scheduled keeping the potential travelers in mind and would depart from Dhaka at 2:10p, and 8pm, and from Sylhet at 3pm, and 8:50pm, respectively.
Imran Asif, the CEO of Air Astra said: “With the addition of our third ATR72-600 aircraft within the first three months of operations, we are very pleased to expand our operating network by launching these two daily flights to Sylhet which is an important destination for us.”
“We hope that our valued passengers will appreciate the fantastic service on the ground and in the air,” he added.
Air Astra operates a fleet of three modern French-built ATR72-600 aircraft configured with 70
seats. It is the most modern turboprop aircraft in the world right now with enhanced safety and
reliability features, reads the press release.
The airline prioritizes safety above all other operational objectives and have undertaken the initiatives to become the first private airline to achieve IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) recognition within the first year of operations.
