Health Minister Zahid Maleque Thursday said the government is taking all necessary initiatives for improving the healthcare system to provide better treatment facilities to the people.
"Bangladesh has achieved a remarkable development in the health sector as the present government has implemented massive program since assuming power," he told a function in Bogra, reported BSS.
Referring to the necessity of providing quality healthcare services to the common people, the minister said: "We are visiting different public hospitals to find out various reasons why public hospitals are unable to provide expected healthcare facilities to commoners."
He said the government is launching massive drives to bring a meaningful change in service quality to ensure world standard medical treatment facilities in Bangladesh.
"As the country is suffering from efficient healthcare professionals, we are laying emphasis on developing skilled manpower for improving the healthcare system to discourage people to go aboard for better treatment," Maleque said.
The health minister said Bangladesh has been successful for tackling Covid-19 pandemic due to collective efforts of all stakeholders.
