Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has given several instructions to the District Commissioners (DCs) including making the people aware that no one should go abroad illegally.
He gave these instructions on the last day of the three-day DC conference in the capital's Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday.
After leaving the DC conference, the foreign minister told reporters: “Many people go abroad illegally and face harassment and trouble. DCs have been told to make them aware so this does not happen.”
“Besides, the houses of expatriates get occupied. Some have gone to jail in the case of illegal movement. So, the expatriates should be protected in these cases,” he said
Security and safety supervision in tourist areas was also discussed.
The minister also added that no more Rohingyas would be allowed to enter Bangladesh.
The foreign minister said that India and Bangladesh have reached a consensus at the top-level regarding border killings. “Not a single person will die on the border. However, tragic incidents have still happened,” he added.
