BaSoD: Digital surveillance violates constitutional rights

Bazlur Rashid Firoz, general secretary of the Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BaSoD), has said the announcement of the "lawful implementation of an online surveillance system" constitutes a cyber crime and a breach of the people's constitutional rights.
He said this in a statement given to the media on Saturday.
He said: “No democratic and civilized country can allow the violation of the privacy of individuals to be legalized."
He also asked that the government stop trying to restrict free expression.
At the same time, he exhorted all leftist progressive groups and individuals to speak out and organize a large-scale protest against the government's "anti-people activities”.
