Update : 10 Jan 2023, 02:07 PM

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the government will not tolerate if the opposition BNP creates any public distress in the name of sit-in protests.

“As a political party, the government has never obstructed any programs by BNP. However, several programs in the past have resulted in violence. The law enforcers will take action if road blockade or vandalism is reported in the name of protest,” added the home minister.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the statements at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters on Tuesday morning.

The opposition BNP will stage a sit-in protest on Wednesday, for four hours in all the divisional headquarters including Dhaka.

The announcement was made at BNP's mass procession held on December 30, reports Bangla Tribune.
