A businessman and young professional, Md Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan has been elected as the new national president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh.
The General Assembly of the Bangladesh branch of this international voluntary organization was held at a five-star hotel in the capital on Sunday, reads a press release.
Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan was elected as the national president of JCI Bangladesh for the year 2023 by the vote of the members of the assembly.
In 2022 he served as the national general secretary of the organization, reads the press release.
Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, the newly elected president, said: "JCI is an organization for young people and in the upcoming year, JCI Bangladesh will focus on spreading various youth development initiatives in all the districts nationwide. Also, continuing on from the previous year, new initiatives are being launched to develop the talent of young, energetic individuals!"
Niaz Morshed Elite, the outgoing president of JCI Bangladesh, congratulated the new leader and remarked: "JCI Bangladesh is an institution of leadership. In continuation of that, this election has transferred the responsibility to the new leadership. I wish JCI Bangladesh prosperity in the future."
Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan began his professional career after acquiring an engineering degree in electrical engineering at the Islamic University of Technology, whilst simultaneously participating in several social activities.
The young entrepreneur currently serves as the chief of staff of Bangladesh's largest startup - ShopUp.
Apart from this, he leads various businesses and social organizations alongside youth development work, reads the press release.
He is the current vice president of the IUT Alumni Association. At the same time, he is serving as Director of Chandpur Model Hospital.
