Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sang along to different songs with singers at a cultural program staged at the 22nd national council of the Awami League at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday morning.
Earlier, the ruling party chief hoisted the national flag and inaugurated the council at the historic ground.
Immediately after the inauguration of the conference, a cultural program was staged for half an hour.
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina sang along to two Tagore Songs there.
The council of the ruling Awami League started with 8,000 councillors and 25,000 delegates from all over the country present.
It is expected that attendance will cross 100,000 including leaders of different parties and diplomats stationed in Dhaka.
It is almost certain that Sheikh Hasina will be re-elected as the party chief for the tenth consecutive term at the council. All eyes are therefore on who her deputy will be.
