Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has said metro rail will be inaugurated with millions of people gathering on December 28.
Urging all walks of people to attend the inauguration ceremony, the Awami League leader said: “Our beloved leader Sheikh Hasina said she will not inaugurate this mega project with only a few VIP guests, she will come and speak in front of the people.”
He made these remarks on Wednesday at a representative meeting of the Metropolitan North Awami League at Diabari in Uttara .
Pointing out that the country is moving forward by confronting national and international conspiracies under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said: "Metro rail is going to be launched soon. Padma Bridge has been launched and Karnaphuli Tunnel will be launched as well. Still, BNP is blind. They do not see the development that took place in the country in the last 14 years.”
Addressing the BNP leaders, he further said: “Show a development from when Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia were in power. You cannot show an example of what you have done.”
In the meeting, Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said the country has to be taken forward by strengthening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's hand. If anyone conspires, he/she must be dealt with. For this reason, party leaders and workers at all levels should be united.
Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, SM Kamal Hossain, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, General Secretary SM Mannan Kochi, Joint General Secretary Alhaj Habib Hasan and others also addressed the meeting. Leaders and workers of different levels of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League were present as well.
