Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the new generations should be raised with the spirit of the Great War of Liberation.
“Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman aiming to build a developed, exploitation-free and secular country. Every effort should be made to eliminate evil forces against freedom,” he said.
He was addressing a felicitation ceremony of heroic freedom fighters and relatives of martyred freedom fighters organized by Pirgachha upazila administration at Pirgachha JN High School ground marking the Great Victory Day-2022 on Friday as the chief guest.
The Pirgachha upazila administration chalked out daylong colorful programs to celebrate the Great Victory day-2022 at the upazila headquarters.
The minister said Bangabandhu's worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly for the economic freedom of common people of the country.
“Bangladesh has passed a long way. By 2041, we want to become a developed country. That is why everyone has to work from their respective positions with the spirit of the Great War of Liberation,” he said.
Moderated by Pirgachha Upazila Fisheries Officer Hakibur Rahman, Upazila Chairman Abu Naser Shah Md Mahbubar Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sheikh Shamsul Arefin, Pirgachha Upazila Awami League President Taslim Uddin, former Commander of Pirgachha Upazila Unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad heroic freedom fighter Wazed Ali Sarkar addressed the function special guests.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Pirgachha Upazila Musa Naser Chowdhury, Upazila Vice-chairmen Ariful Haque Liton and Vice-chairman Tanzina Afroz, Rangpur District Council Member Abdul Hannan Miah, Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary Shafiqul Islam Biplab, Upazila Health and family Planning Officer Dr Kaniz Sabiha, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Syed Souza Mian, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Habibur Rahman, Upazila Livestock Officer Abdus Salam and Upazila Social Service Officer Enamul Haque, among others, were present.
Later, the minister inspected the Victory Day parade and took salute at Mofazzal Hossain Government Model High School ground in nearby Kawnia upazila of the district.
