The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Moinuddin Abdullah has called for boycott of the corrupt people to reduce corruption in the country.

However, he said that corruption in the country will not be reduced overnight, it requires a collective effort and the commission is working on it.

The ACC chief made the statement at a program on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day on Friday morning.

The commission chairman said that by boycotting all kinds of corrupt people, the country's corruption will be reduced to a large extent.

Pointing out that the country has been the champion of corruption five times in the past, Moinuddin Abdullah said that it was gradually improving from the previous record in a corrupt parameter.

He said: “We will not personally commit corruption and also not tolerate any kind of corruption. Only then will it be possible to eradicate corruption from the country.”

The ACC chairman further said that corruption was a deadly disease and everyone should work together to prevent corruption.

To celebrate the day, the commission had organized an event at Shilpakala Academy, where President Abdul Hamid will address as the chief guest and Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique will also be present as a special guest.

The theme of this year's program is “World United Against Corruption”.
