Planning Minister MA Mannan on Sunday said the income of people in Bangladesh is gradually increasing.
“New people are entering the market. There is a divide between supply and demand, which is true for all countries across the world,” the minister said at a BGB event in Sunamganj.
The routes through which drugs enter the country will be identified and all the border roads will be developed, he said.
Bangladesh will see a bumper yield of Aman paddy next year, he said, adding: “There is no space left for more rice… We do not want to import rice,” he said.
MA Mannan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has plans for the development of Bangladesh in the next five years. “Development plans are made based on information from various ministries,” he added.
