Agami Education Foundation (AEF) has organized a science fair as part of ''Life is Fun'' science education program for the fourth time in Dhaka.
Life is Fun (LIF) is a program running under the Agami Education Foundation, which started back in 2013, says a press release.
This program aims at teaching science education to primary-level children in a semi-formal manner with the motivation to stimulate their interest in science.
The program was held based on the theme “Let's Learn Science with Fun”.
Due to the pandemic, last year, the fair was organised virtually with a live demonstration of the Science Projects by the students.
This year, ''Life is Fun 4th Annual Science Fair 2022'' was organised as a daylong event at Bangladesh Mohila Samity premises on November 26.
CourtesyApart from the executive members of AEF, television personality Dr Abdun Noor Tushar; Prof Dr Samia Mubin of Department of Surgery, BSMMU; Nafisa Khanam, Lead Co-ordinator of Teachers Training Program at AEF; and Architect Hasnain Sabih Nayak, co-founder at Toitomboor; were present as special guests to add more color to the joyful event.
Total six schools participated in the fair this year.
Students from class three, four and five from Shohag Shwapnodhara School, Nandipara PSD School, Alok Shikkhaloy, Peyarabag PSD school, Switch Tahmina Banu Bidyanikton and Lakshmipur Shimanto Bazar School displayed their science projects.
There were science projects displayed, for example, volcano, producing electricity using solar system, biogas plant. water purifier etc.
Total 33 projects were submitted by the the students and total 107 students were present in the event.
Students displayed their projects all day long. A day-long booth was presented by Toitomboor, a leading children magazine publisher that showcased publications for children. Another partnership organization was “Light of Hope” and they contributed through providing books as gifts.
“Jolputul” a cultural organization, held a puppet show to entertain the students to break the monotony.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at 3 pm. The winners received their prizes from the special guests and judges.
Every year, LiF offers an opportunity to showcase the latent talent and enthusiasm of these students through the Science Fair.
