Awami League's massive public rally begins in Jessore

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to join the meeting as the chief guest

Jessore district Awami League rally started at the district stadium at 12:10pm on Thursday.

The event began with the recitation from the holy books.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to join the meeting as the chief guest.

Though the Awami League president is expected to reach the venue in the afternoon, thousands of supporters and activists of Awami League already filled up the Shamsul Huda Stadium wearing colourful t-shirts and caps from the morning.

District Awami League President Sahidul Islam Milon is presiding over the program while Awami League central leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, local MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed, among others, are present on the boat shaped stage.

Shahin Chalkadar MP, general secretary of district Awami League, is conducting the program.

Pinning upon the arrival of the premier, Jessore has now turned into a festive town while people of all strata as well as leaders and activists of AL have been enthusiastic.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Jessore on Thursday morning on a day-long visit to attend a number of programs.

Through the public rally in Jessore, campaign of AL chief Sheikh Hasina across the country will begin. After that, she will address as the chief guest a party rally on December 4 at Polo Ground in Chittagong and on December 7 at the Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar. In these public meetings, the party president will give new messages to the people as well as AL leaders and activists. 

Leaders of Jessore district Awami League said that there is a target of gathering one million people at the public meeting. Awami League leaders and activists from 10 districts of Khulna division including all upazilas of Jessore and adjacent districts will participate in the public meeting.
