Representatives of Bangladesh Coast Guard distributed lifebuoy, life jacket and other safety materials to fishermen in the remote area of Golkhali, Koira of Khulna district on Thursday.
Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, gave this information on Thursday afternoon, according to a press release.
Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury along with other senior officials of Bangladesh Coast Guard attended the event.
During that time, the director general observed the exercise of the removal of unintended oil discharge in water by boats equipped with newly added Oil Pollution Control equipment in Pasur river.
He also said that the Bangladesh Coast Guard is always ready for any disaster situations including cyclones, floods, and epidemics in the country.
Regular cooperation of the Coast Guard with relief and housing among the helpless and distressed people in the affected areas continues and such activities will continue in the future, he added.
