The 20th session of 11th parliament was prorogued on Sunday after six sittings as the session started on October 30.
Before reading out the prorogation order of the president, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presented a historic address of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the first council of Bangladesh Awami League on April 7 in 1972 from the archive.
Jatiya Sangsad leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered her valedictory speech at the closing session of the 11th parliament. Deputy Leader of the Opposition Golam Mohammad Quader also spoke at the House.
A total of four bills were passed in the session.
Along with the legal procedure, a total of 91 important notices under section 71 and 30 notices were also received under section 71 (kha) for holding two-minutes discussion.
A total of 44 questions were available for the prime minister's question and answer session where 14 questions were answered by the PM during the session.
During the question answer session, 439 questions were answered by the ministers under different ministries with some 1,013 questions were received for the session. Two standing committees were also presented during the session.
The treasury bench lawmakers also participated in the discussion marking the Jail killing Day on November 3.
Before reading out the prorogation order, the Speaker thanked all the MPs of treasury and opposition benches.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also thanked all the MPs, officials, journalists, law enforcers and fire service and civil defence personnel for their services for smoother holding the parliament session.
