3 killed in Gazipur road accidents

The accidents took place in Urun Madyapara area of Kapasia upazila and Shimulia area of Kaliganj upazila

Three people were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents in Gazipur on Wednesday. 

The accidents took place in Urun Madyapara area of Kapasia upazila and Shimulia area of Kaliganj upazila. 

AFM Nasim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kapasia police station, said that the accident took place in the area of Targaon union  in the afternoon when a Kishoreganj-bound bus Ujanbhati Paribahan crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, coming from opposite direction, leaving two dead on the spot and three others injured.

The deceased were identified as Abul Kashem, 68, resident of Gazipur city and Habibur Rahman Habu, hailing from Borshipur village in Itna upazila of Kishoreganj district. They were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

The injured people are autorickshaw driver Hridoy, 30, Ramjan Ali, 50, Zakaria, 29.  They are now undergoing treatment at Kapasia Health Complex, said the OC. 

Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj police station, said that police recovered the body of one Milon Hazda, 25, son of Mandal Hazda, hailing from Barmasia village in Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur, from smashed CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Tongi-Narsingdi road in Shimulia area in the afternoon. 

Primarily, police suspected that Milon, worker of Pran RFL factory of Narsingdi's Polash upazila, was killed when a vehicle hit the auto-rickshaw carrying him.
