Police aviation wing taking shape: Four ASPs complete basic course to be pilots

ASP Fatema-Tuz-Zohra achieved the honour of being the first woman pilot of police

Four assistant superintendents of police (ASPs), including a female officer, have completed Aviation Basic Course 12.
 
They are Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Sarwar Hossain, Senior ASP Md Mushfiqul Haque, ASP Fatema-Tuz-Zohra and ASP Md Abul Hossain. 
 
The police officers with six others from different forces participated in the basic course at Army Aviation School.
 
Among the trainees, five from Army completed 70 hours of flying training on the Cessna-152 Aerobat aircraft. Also, five of Navy and police completed 70 hours of flying training on the Diamond DA-40NG aircraft. 
 
Captain Md Abu Talha Arefin ASC was selected as the best pilot among the trainees of the Cessna-152 Aerobat aircraft, and Senior ASP Md Sarwar Hossain was selected as the best pilot of the Diamond DA-40NG aircraft. 
 
ASP Fatema-Tuz-Zohra achieved the honour of being the first woman pilot of police. 
 
Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed distributed certificates to the new pilots at a program  at the Army Aviation School Monday afternoon and awarded them flying brevets. 
 
Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and senior military and civilian officials were also present.
