A worker died after a wall collapsed on him during demolition work of a garment factory building in Narayanganj’s Fatullah on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Jewel khan, 30, a generator mason at Crony groups manufacturing garment factory in Fatullah.
The incident took place when the wall of the second floor of the building of Crony Garments collapsed on Jewel, leaving him dead on the spot.
Witnesses said that the demolition work of a four-storey building was underway for several days.
The owner of the garments factory tried to hide the matter but after hearing the incident the relatives of the victim informed the police.
Later, a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body in the afternoon.
The owner of Crony Garments did not answer phone calls of this correspondent.
Sub-inspector Syed Azizul Haque of Fatulla Model police station said that the incident took place in the morning but the police received information in the afternoon.
The body has been kept at Narayanganj General (Victoria) Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The process for filing a case is underway, the officer added.
