15 establishments fined 10L in DNCC anti-dengue drive

Officials conducted simultaneous raids in 10 zones of DNCC

Mobile courts under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday found Aedes mosquito larvae and fined 15 establishments some Tk1,000,000 on Thursday.

Executive officers and executive magistrates conducted simultaneous raids in 10 zones of DNCC on the second day of the week-long special anti-mosquito drive, reports Bangla Tribune.

Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Motakabbir Ahmed of Zone 5 of DNCC imposed a fine of Tk300,000 on a house during the raid. 

Besides, another fine of Tk100,000 was levied on a restaurant for preparing food in an unhygienic environment and conducting its operations occupying roads.

Meanwhile, around 105 buildings, establishments, restaurants, and shops were inspected during the drives in Kalyanpur, New Market, East Manipur area of Ward No 11 and 13 under DNCC zone 4.

Executive Officer of zone 4 and Executive Magistrate Md Abed Ali imposed a fine of Tk200,000 on a house where they found Aedes mosquito larvae.

The health officials of DNCC also toured different areas to aware people of dengue. 

The anti-mosquito drive will go on till October 25.
