Hasan: BNP’s meaningless dream of running country might end up Khaleda Zia in jail

It is no decency to attack Sultana Kamal personally, the minister says

Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Hasan Mahmud on Monday warned that if BNP continues to dream about running the country in a meaningless way then the government will have to reconsider Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s decision to keep Begum Khaleda Zia out of prison.

In a news conference held on Monday in the ministry's meeting room at the Secretariat, the minister made this statement in reaction to BNP leader Aman Ullah Aman's recent statement that "after December 10 the country would run on the words of Khaleda Zia".

When asked about remarks made by BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi against human rights advocate Begum Sultana Kamal, Hasan responded: "Begum Sultana Kamal is a prominent human rights activist and an intellectual. Her opinions, however, frequently oppose the government. But attacking her directly is not decent.”
