The Awami League is resolute in its mission to build a non-communal and secular Bangladesh, General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said.
Quader, who is also the roads and bridges minister, was speaking to Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council leaders and notable Hindu personalities at the office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi on Friday.
He called upon leaders and activists at all levels of the party to stay on the alert in order to prevent any acts of vandalism during this year’s Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Several leaders of the central committee ruling party lawmakers Ashim Kumar Ukil and Mrinal Kanti Dash as well as Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua were among others present at the meeting.
