A SSC examinee was killed and another young man injured after falling down from a motorcycle being hit by a bus on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar bazar bus stand area on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Tuhin Mahmud Joy, 16, son of Tofazzal Hossain and the student of Radio Colony Model School while the injured is Rasel, 28.
Quoting highway police, police officer Azizul Haque, said that the accident took place around 11:30pm as Rasel and Tuhin fell down from the motorcycle being hit by the speeding bus, leaving Tuhin dead on the spot and Rasel injured.
Locals rescued Rasel and rushed him to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
As Tuhin’s family did not file any complaint, the body was handed over to them.
Police have yet to apprehend the driver of the bus.
