Thakurgaon’s Pirganj upazila administration has imposed Section 144 to prevent mass gatherings in the eastern and western intersections of the upazila to prevent untoward any untoward situations.
Pirganj Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shahriar Nazir issued the order on Sunday morning.
UNO said that in Pirganj upazila, Awami League and BNP are being obstinate about carrying out their respective programs at the same time and place.
If the program of both the parties continues, there may be vandalism of vehicles, damage to private and government properties and destruction of the law and order situation at various intersections of Pirganj municipal area
Therefore, in order to keep the situation normal and for the safety of the people, Section 144 has been issued on Sunday from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
Meanwhile, all kinds of gatherings, meetings, marches, gatherings of four or more people and all activities contrary to law and order have been banned in these areas.
