Khaleda Zia to visit hospital again for health checkup Sunday

The medical board formed for her treatment adviced her to schedule the appointment

Update : 28 Aug 2022, 12:29 PM

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is scheduled to go to Evercare Hospital again on Sunday afternoon for medical tests.

Her personal physician Prof AZM Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter to the media.

On August 22, Khaleda visited Evercare Hospital for a series of heart-related tests, including an X-ray, EKG, echocardiography, and ultrasonogram. After carefully reviewing the data, the medical team in charge of her treatment, lead by Prof Shahabuddin Talukdar, has urgently advised additional tests.

In order to clear a block in a significant blood vessel, Khaleda underwent a stenting treatment on June 11.

The 78-year-old BNP leader has a number of health issues, including diabetes, arthritis, and issues with her heart, lungs, kidneys, and eyes.

The BNP leader was sentenced to prison three years ago after being found guilty in two graft charges. Her family requested a conditional release from custody for "humanitarian grounds" in April 2020, and the government agreed.

It did not, however, comply with the BNP's demand that Khaleda be permitted to receive medical treatment outside of the country.

Since then, Khaleda has been residing in her Gulshan home. She was referred to Evercare Hospital six times after contracting the coronavirus in April 2021.
